Overview
What is Masters Commission?
Masters Commission is a ministry for hungry passionate people that don’t want to live a normal life but want to fulfill their calling and destiny in Christ. We provide a balanced growth environment to develop and equip the whole person. More than a traditional bible college, Crossfire Master's Commission offers the education of a bible college combined with the experience of the ministry field. Master’s Commission helps shape a lifestyle of total commitment for Christians on all levels. We believe teaching Godly disciplines will provide direction during the most critical times of a person's life. The Holy Spirit is given complete freedom to transform individuals into the image of the Master. Masters Commission is not structured to take care of “problem people” or those who need a Christian discipline program. We want to provide a year intense with discipleship and training for dedicated students that will last a lifetime.
History of Masters Commission
Master's Commission was born in the heart of Larry Kerychuk as a place where people of all walks of life could come, grow in their relationship with Christ and lay a biblical foundation upon which a lifetime of service to God could be built and lived out. Pastor Kerychuk, with Pastor Carmen Balsamo as director, began the Master's Commission program in 1984 in Phoenix, Arizona. Trainees pledged one year of their lives to scripture memory, the study of the word, and ministry. After Carmen's death, Rev. Lloyd Zeigler was appointed director.
God has poured his blessing on Master's Commission and given opportunity for multiplication in churches across the country and around the world. As the program spread from church to church the need arose for a network to be established to preserve the integrity and purity of heart with which this intense discipleship training program was created. In 1995, a group of Master's Commission directors from across the nation held a meeting at the annual Master's Commission Discipleship Conference and formed the Master's Commission International Network. The MCIN is an affiliation of Master's Commission programs who share the same heart and desire for character, integrity and discipleship. If a Master's Commission program has been recognized by the MCIN, then it meets the standards and mirrors the original heart of this movement.
History of Crossfire Masters Commission
Crossfire Master’s Commission was birthed out of a vision. Crossfire Ministries (our home church) had a heart to see young people discipled and brought to the Lord. This vision was brought to life by two energetic servants of the Lord. Tim Cheek and his brother Chris had the heart and drive to bring a Master’s Commission to Eugene. Chris, a graduate of LA Metro MC, had seen first hand the life changing impact that MC can have on a young life. After two years serving as assistant director he became the Director of Crossfire Masters Commission. Along with his wife Kori (a graduate of Decatur Masters Commission), Chris has taken Crossfire Masters Commission to the next level. Their desire to see the lost saved and leaders raised up has been the driving force behind the success of Crossfire Masters. We look forward to many years of discipling young men and women of God.
How is Crossfire Masters Commission different from other Masters Programs?
First, is our education. There are very few Masters Commission programs out there with true transferable college credit for their students. The education our students receive is truly amazing. Secondly. We don't believe Finances should dictate accomplishing the will of God for your life. We do not accept students based on if they have the finances for tuition met. Through Eugene Bible College we do have possibilities for government issued grants and loans available. We are willing to work with individuals and see them receive the education and training no matter there financial background. Each situation is a case by case matter and all questions regarding financial assistance should be directed to the Crossfire Masters Commission office.
