I can say that because things would definitely be different if it wasn’t. We all get caught up in not doing the things we’re not supposed to do that we forget to do the things we are. If we really paid attention to James 4:17 there would be a lot more examples of people looking out for widows, orphans, and the needy. After all, the Bible says doing so is the righteousness. The church, the body of Christ, meaning God’s people of every nationality and denomination, hasn’t done the best jobs following Jesus’ command to “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Most of us, myself included, seem to live by, “Love yourself and share whatever’s left.” Remember that God’s commands are more then suggestions or fuzzy, feel good concepts, but instructions and neglecting to obey is sin.
