The In-Between

Crossfire Masters Commission will be graduating the class of 2008. I want to first invite everyone to the graduation service. It will be Sunday July 13th at 6:00pm. At

Crossfire World Outreach Ministries
942 28th St.
Springfield, OR 97477

It's funny because as a staff, we are at a very strange point. It seems to find us every year. Graduation is coming so we are in preparation and excited to see the students continue their calling beyond Masters. At the same time as a staff we are also looking forward to next year’s class of world changers, and the excitement that comes with a new group of people, problems and situations. It's almost like were at a point of "in-between". This is funny to me because as Crossfire MC we look for people who are trapped at the great "in-between" of the American Church. Let me explain: I was talk to a pastor friend of mine the other day about the huge gap between youth ministry and adulthood for Christian young people. Statistically more people fall away from their relationship with God between the ages of 18 and 24. I don’t think this is because of the great pressures of life at this age. The opportunity to sin is a lot more. Students get out of their parents home and begin to make decisions on their own and often make poor choices. But it is easy to blame the world, I think we need to take an inside look and ask if we are doing all we can to keep these people engaged in serving God. I remember when I graduated from High School feeling a little wired about still being in Youth Church and still feeling to young to be in “adult” church. At Masters Commission we love this place because of the opportunity to see God take these types of people to the next level. My friend told me he sometimes does not have the patience of teaching students the confidence of living beyond youth. For me High school graduation was not too long ago and I remember the awkwardness of what to do next. Luckily God called me to learn confidence at the school I am now proud to work for. Maybe you are at the point of “In-Between” or you know a student who is their, let me suggest Crossfire Masters Commission, we will do our best to teach you or your students how to be a contributing member of your congregation, they will also learn who they are in God and how to accomplish everything he has called them to.
