Sad Day In Sac

Photobucket

February 2, 2008

It was a sad morning. Today we knew would be our last day here and we knew that we were going to miss everyone. Mike had the day off so we got to hang out with him. We were also able to get a lot of the stuff ready to go. We also still managed to practice some drama stuff for the night's service.

On Saturday nights, "The Meeting Place," has a dinner service. They all get together at 6:00 P.M. and eat dinner together. Although this time, we got to treat them to dinner. Audrey cooked a meal for everyone times 2. She made some enchiladas, rice, and beans. One of the church members cheated. Fred brought some home made bean burritos, they were really good.

After Dinner, we were able to worship together. At the end of worship, we had a time of just being silent in the presence of the Lord. God touched the hearts of all the people their. After the silence, Chris preached a message about "Who Is This Jesus That You Follow." We did a drama at the end of it and then prayed.

After the prayer, their church was able to pray and bless us. Two of the women in the church, a mother named Patti, and a daughter named Rhonda, gave us each a pen with a cross on it as a remembrance of them. They all told us how blessed they were to have us. We felt like the ones blessed. We could not be happier then to share the love of God with them. We said goodbye to all, loaded the truck and trailer and hit the road. Our next stop is Madera, CA.
